Alexander (Alec) Hay, Ph.D.

Infrastructure Risk, Resilience, Security and Future Preparedness Planning

Alec is a globally recognized future preparedness leader and trusted advisor. For over three decades he has delivered client and consultant side strategy and planning for public and private sector organizations and communities around the world. Focus: transitioning to the net-zero economy, climate adaptation and resiliency and coping with a rapidly changing risk context. Founded Toronto-based Southern Harbour in 2014, operating across the Middle East, Europe and North America. Working through management, design, legal and insurance practices, he informs decision-making with evidenced, auditable and independent risk management and advice.

Sanjay Khanna

Futurist, Strategist and Trusted Advisor

Sanjay is Chief Futurist of SK Futures Inc., a strategic foresight consultancy dedicated to enhancing the resiliency of organizations, individuals, and communities. Across industries and functional disciplines, Khanna's perspective and prescience inspire wiser thinking on strategy, risk, and innovation in private, public, social, and academic sectors. He advised numerous clients including Hewlett-Packard, Nokia Ventures Organization, Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, and Insurance Bureau of Canada. Sanjay served as futurist at global law firm Baker McKenzie where he facilitated the expansion of the World Economic Forum's Climate Governance Initiative to Australia, India, and Singapore. Khanna's professional and academic work has been featured and quoted by media outlets including Financial Times, CBC, The Globe and Mail, Les Affaires, and Nature. He was named a Technology Pioneer by The Lawyer, the premier legal industry publication, and was a joint winner of an FT Innovative Lawyers North America Award. Khanna is an alumnus of the Oxford Scenarios Programme, University of Oxford, and was trained by leading scenario planners from Royal Dutch Shell’s famed scenarios team.


Joe Tankersley

Futurist, Foresight Facilitator and Reimagining Storyteller

Joe Tankersley is a futurist, writer, and advocate for better tomorrows. He helps organizations and community groups “Imagineer their best tomorrows.”

Prior to founding Unique Visions, Joe spent twenty years at Walt Disney Imagineering as creative team leader and internal futurist. While there, he developed his Strategic Narrative Foresight Technique. This unique approach to futures thinking combines rigorous research with the creativity of storytelling.

Joe has served on the boards of the Global Future Forum, the Association of Professional Futurists, The Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, and The Blue Community

Joe's writing has been published in professional journals, foresight anthologies, and popular outlets. His collection of strategic narratives, Reimagining Our Tomorrows, was published in 2018.

 He graduated from Emory University with a B.A. in English and received his M.A. in Communication from Florida State University.

A senior leader with over twenty years of experience in forward-thinking product development and software engineering, supporting teams upwards of 300 people and online revenues of $1+ billion per annum.

Led development for Walmart.ca, Loblaws.ca, Telus.com, Rogers app and start-ups including his own (some of which now have a greater market cap than each of the aforementioned enterprise brands).

Peer-recognized as a strong leader, negotiator/influencer, collaborator, and team builder; data-driven, process-oriented, outcome-focused; and an expert in web design, development and delivery. Sandra Leigh Lester BTech

Foresight Facilitation, Organization and Regenerative Building Design

Sandra is an action-focused innovator and facilitator, recognized by clients and peers as an industry leader in regenerative building design and integrated organizational transformation.

To unlock the core value of every regenerative building and change management assignment, she uses an integrative design approach and collaborates with key players through to completion.

Sandra’s key skills are facilitation, real estate portfolio management, green building strategy, systems thinking, and social technologies such as the World Café. She has been facilitating online collaborations since 2010 and is always embracing new technologies that bring people together to co-create new future imaginings.

Credentials include Bachelor of Technology in Architectural Science (TMU); Masters Certificate in Organizational Development and Change Management (York University); Certified Sustainable Building Advisor; LEED-accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction; and Certified Passive House Designer.


Chun Liang

Future Readiness, Net Zero Energy Strategist and Implementation Leader

Chun helps organizations and communities future-proof energy performance with a focus on net zero program management.

Working with private and public sector clients in Canada and abroad, he’s implemented contracts that strategically blended renewable and energy efficiency measures to achieve over $3.1M in savings.

In addition to his ctr membership, Chun owns Tree House Energy Services, a consultancy that specializes in net zero program management. His services are based on initiatives that he launched at the City of Brampton: the first corporate zero carbon plan and the first carbon-neutral Sportsplex. He led the funding application for this Sportsplex that was approved for $15.7M in retrofit funding by the federal government. He’s been appointed to FCM’s (Federation of Canadian Municipalities) Committee on Community Buildings Retrofits to assess funding applications on their technical and financial merits.

His credentials: Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering; P.Eng. in Ontario; Certified Energy Manager; and LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction.


Lisa Killin

Imagineer, Visual Storyteller

Lisa is known for harnessing the power of imagineered concepts and visual storytelling to illustrate possible futures for startups and more established organizations and groups.

With a focus on creating high-impact visuals, she creates user-centric technical and non-technical infographics, typographical design layouts and metaphorical images. Regardless of the medium or application: digital, social, animatics, email campaigns, books, brochures, websites, presentations, or pitch decks, she collaborates with clients to reimagine future possibilities for achieving intended results.
